It's a boy!!!

Hi there!! I have decided to start a blog!! Currently, I blog on my myspace account, but I think the blogs go into the myspace abyss after 10 or so. I've been blogging on there for years and how many of those are floating in the abyss??? So basically, I'll blog here and probably copy and paste for those loyal myspace blog subscribers too!!

Exciting news this week for the Nelson's! It's a boy! Yup, yup, yup. That's a total of FOUR boys now. I have to believe that God has a purpose for me to have FOUR boys. I mean, he didn't flippantly just think, "I'm not going to give Jennifer the desire of her heart, I'll just give her some boys..." He purposed to give me four beautiful, healthy boys. He may be so gracious as to share with my finite mind the reason for his purpose, but I may never know. Until then, I am learning to be content. I will never experience frilly dresses, pink bows, cheerleading practice, make-up, getting ready for the high school dance, getting ready for her wedding, and the birth of her children. You know what I will have??? Frogs in pockets, holes in jeans, grubby hands, warm smiles, adoring faces that bring me "flowers" (also known as weeds) from the yard, precious love notes tucked in my slippers (Caleb did this for my birthday), and many a "Bye Mom!" as they are older and head out the door. I'll never have someone to "be like me," but I am truly blessed with 4 amazing sons who cherish thier mother. God is God, and I am not, so what more can I say?

Jennifer,
Oh my goodness. I am so glad you and Eric have had your 4th child and to know that all of you are well. Yes God does have a purpose for you to have those boys, and yes, you may not know His purpose in your lifetime. No, I know you will know part of His purpose as you raise those boys to be Men of God. Men who know Him as their Savior and lead awesome lives serving Gods plans.

As to your not having a girl to "be like you", you will have young men who will "be like you" with your wonderful view of life and learning and serving our Lord. And, just as a side note, my precious Mother-in-law, who loved God with all her heart had a desire of her heart to have a daughter even as she gave birth to yet the 4th boy--my wonderful husband and father of my two great young ladies. God her the desire of her heart and 2 years after that 4th boy and at the age of 45, my Mother-in-law gave birth to her 5th child, Sue--and no, not a boy named Sue. Whatever God's will for your life, we know He wants only what He knows to be the best things.

I love you and love hearing about you, Eric and all your precious boys.
